Meadow orchard in full cherry blossom
Fruit-growing is like a generation pact. If every generation makes its contribution to the preservation and enrichment of the scattered fruit trees, the next generations will be able to gather fruits as well.
By the foundation of the LGKS in 2004 the scattered fruit trees had an average age of appx. 70 years. Thus we put an emphasis on the revitalization of the valuable orchard areas.
In order to ensure the preservation of the old tree stock for as long as possible, we are following a prudent tending strategy.
In the last years our scattered orchards were enriched by proven old varieties. All sorts are adapted to high altitudes, are frost-hardy and relatively resistant to diseases. This makes them especially suitable for the ecological fruit-growing. Lovers of tasty varieties can discover apples, pears, plums and, of course, cherries at LGKS.
Products processed from our sun-ripened cherries can be purchased at Farmers Delicacy.
