As every year the excursion to the school forest is dedicated to active nature protection. Karl-Heinz Rehn, an expert in the range of domestic fauna and flora, guided, together with forest scientist Kerstin Heyne, a group of interested teenagers of the Goethe-school Pirna across the FFH-area Mueglitz valley (FFH: fauna-flora-habitat-guideline, see also http://www.umwelt.sachsen.de/umwelt/natur/natura2000/2014.aspx).
Besides the exploration of flora and fauna in the mixed forests of canyons and hillsides along the valley Doktorgraben, the pupils wanted to do something for forest and game themselves: They collected rubbish and waste illegally disposed in the forest.
