Who wanted to spend the international Biodiversity Day (May 22nd) in a special way didn't need to go fare away: At the hillsides of the Mueglitz valley near Schlottwitz one can find not only several endangered animal species as, e.g., the lesser horseshoe bat (Rhinolophus hipposideros), but also the largest and oldest yew tree populations in Saxony, a good reason for Baerbel Kemper and her team from the country estate Kemper & Schlomski (LGKS) to invite all people interested in nature protection to a joint excursion to the magical yew tree forest on this special day.
What the participants saw and experienced you can read here (German).
